Baltic Amber, also known as Succinite or Succinate, contains high levels of Succinic acid. When Amber is warmed against our bodies, it releases natural oils that have been locked in the resin for millions of years. These oils are absorbed through our skin, and contain high levels of succinic acid.
Recent scientific research has proved that Succinic Acid has a beneficial affect on the human body: by stimulating the thyroid glands to help reduce drooling and soothe red inflamed cheeks as well as having calmative, analgesic (Pain relief), antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory, expectorant, and febrifuge (anti-fever) functions.
The effects of wearing a Baltic amber necklace grow stronger with time, as the succinic acid accumulates in the body. Check out our matching parent’s

THE SCIENCE
The positive influence of succinic acid has been scientifically proven by Nobel-prize winner
Robert Koch and recent scientific research. Succinic acid is a fossilized resin produced by plants 40 to 50 million years ago. In nature the resin would have been used by the tree as a natural antibiotic against infection, viruses and physical attack. The tree would use the resin like a wound dressing. Now the resin has been fossilized, its healing properties have been captured in the resin which are released into the skin once the amber has been warmed. Read more about the many benefits of

Amber is also electronegative so it produces negative ionization where it’s touching the skin and negative ionisation helps the body repel illnesses. Ancient Egyptians actually used pine resin as an embalming agent, and doctors during the Civil War, lacking anything else, would sometimes slap tree resin on a wound as a disinfectant which saved lives.
What is Baltic Amber?
Baltic amber (succinite) is a fossil resin from the Eocene Age which formed under natural conditions over 45 million years ago. In spite of the many processes, which the resin went through to transform into amber, it remains in the fossil stage, i.e. is subject to oxidizing and polymerization. Since this process is ongoing, amber keeps changing so we can assume that it is a “living” stone, friendly to humans. And so, this unique stone has been fascinating humankind for well over a dozen millennia and has been a material for craft and art, as well as a stone thought to have magical and medicinal properties.
Where does the Amber come from?
The biggest (and probably the best known), are deposits of amber in the Baltic region. In fact, these deposits is about 80% known amber in the world. Natural Baltic amber can be scientifically validated in age from 35 to 90 million years – no wonder it is one of the most valuable substance on world!
